MEDU VADA
To prepare Medu Vada, you will need the following ingredients:
2 cups Urad Dal (split black lentils)
Salt, to taste
Oil for deep-frying
Instructions:
Soak the Urad Dal in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Drain the water from the soaked dal and grind it in a food processor or mixer to a smooth and thick consistency.
Add salt to taste and mix well.
Heat oil for deep-frying in a pan over medium heat.
Wet your hands and take a small portion of the batter. Shape it into a small, round, and flat vada.
Carefully drop the vada into the hot oil and deep-fry until golden brown.
Remove the vadas with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Serve the Medu Vadas hot with chutney or sambar.
